The case study on play therapy for child who showed frequent explosion of anger
Lee Kyeong-Ok

Abstract
Immediate intervention is strongly recommended to treat one¡¯s anger in that inappropriate expression of anger in early ages causes both emotional and behavioral disorder in later stages. The subject was the first grade, female girl who showed frequent explosion of anger such as destructive verbal expression, and crying. The fundamental factor causing her ill feeling of anger to her parents was her negative parenting experience in early stage. Based on this diagnosis, the sessions focused on helping her form reliable relationship with her parents, alleviate her negative emotion affected by prior parenting experience, and express anger appropriately. In addition, it was parent-counseling for 33 sessions that was organized to guide her parents to be her emotional supporters. Its main goal was to educate parents to have consistent parenting style to their child. Throughout the sessions, the frequency of explosion of anger was rapidly reduced, and the frequency of playing with peers and the degree of verbal expression of her emotion was increased. She also built positive image with her mother so as to obey her parents¡¯ guidelines. However, the limitation of this case was that her emotional conflict from sexual abuse, and her frustration and anger during play therapy were not deeply dealt, and individual counseling with parents was impossible due to external restriction.
